Timber Frame Homes & CabinsTimber Frame construction is an old style of home building which relied on the workmanship of craftsmen. Inside the home, large solid timbers remain exposed revealing its structural design but also reflecting the beauty of the natural material used. The beauty and strength of these massive timbers enabled homes to be constructed with towering ceilings and open floor plans without the use of interior load bearing walls. Heavy timbers, wood siding, stone, gable end braces and cedar shakes were often used in the construction.
The Timber Frame method of building, quickly forgotten when the mass production of 2x4 framing became popular, has recently enjoyed a revival across the country.
Our collection of Timber Frame homes feature floor plans with living areas that are open and flow easily into one another. Exposed timbers and truss systems create a breathtaking view when you enter one of our homes, making them ideal for sites with exceptional outdoor views.
